Another great thing about WAS is the range of most excellent lectures. These have,
over the years, been a great way of expanding my own small knowledge of life, the
universe and everything.

I am now Secretary of the Society and as keen as ever on Astronomy, always encouraging members, new or old, to become proficient. The Society celebrated its 40th Anniversary last year, is well set for the future and remains a friendly and welcoming group for anyone with an interest in Astronomy.

We joined the society about 10 years ago after buying a new telescope. I have had a passion for Astronomy since being a teenager and the Apollo missions furthered my interest. It was good to be able to share our hobby with like minded people. The society is a very friendly group of people who are happy to help new and old members.

I have been a member of WAS for 16 or 17 years and have also served on the committee. I have made some wonderful friends over the years, some of whom will be friends for life, and I continue to remain a member of the society, attending the lectures when I can.

Wycombe Astronomical Society has been so helpful to me both for learning about the subject and for making new friends.

We have been members for 30 years. My personal interest is in cosmology, planetary atmospheres and space travel generally, and I share this profile with some other members, so we are well served by the lectures on offer.
