About the Event
Now that WAS has a Seestar C50 Smart telescope and that a number of members have one also, this Practical will be about how to use this wonderful little instrument. We shall learn how to install the software on to your mobile phone and how to connect to the Seestar. We shall also learn the various modes of operation of the instrument, how to use the menu system and how to use the search facility to find target that are not in “Tonight’s Best”. Hopefully we shall have time to explore the utilities and other options in the software, particularly saving of individual FITS sub frames for later image processing, and how to download images from the instrument once they are saved. And if we are lucky with the weather, we plan to take the instruments outside and actually do some imaging.
