Practical - Buying a beginner’s telescope; a tour of the winter skies

A session primarily aimed at our newer members (but experienced members should be able to contribute helpful expertise) and all about how to go about buying your first telescope, what pitfalls to avoid, and to make a few recommendations. We shall conclude by providing a tour of winter astronomical highlights. These will be some of the sights we shall be able to show our guests at our forthcoming outreach events at Waddesdon Manor (28th February), next month’s Field Astronomy Sessions (3rd, 4th or 5th March) and Wycombe Museum (28th March).
